Conditions of Hiring Church Premises

Instructions: Please make sure you save a copy of these Conditions. They form part of your contract with us. Once you have read/saved them, follow the link at the foot of this page to the online booking request form.

1. Security

The only entrance to be used is through the wooden side-door on to Alfred Street (except in the case of emergency or an advance agreement with the Church Buildings Administrator). Any external door used must be kept locked at all times or personed to admit or allow people to leave or enter. This agreement does not provide for access to any other part of the premises than that requested on the application form, except the toilet facilities.

2. Keys

When applicable a £10 deposit is required for the temporary use of a Church key. This key is Church property and cannot be copied. There is a £12 fee for replacing lost keys.

3. Damage

The Hirer will indemnify the Church against the cost of repairing any damage caused to any part of the Church premises whilst the same are being used by the Hirer, and due to the Hirer's negligence.

4. Insurance

  1. The Hirer is responsible for insuring all property of the Hirer whilst it is on Church premises.
  2. The Hirer will indemnify the Church against any liability to the general public arising out of its use of the Church premises and will insure against this risk.
  3. The Hirer will insure against the risk of damage mentioned in paragraph 3 ('Damage').
  4. The Hirer will be responsible for securing all licences and permits required lawfully to use the premises for the purposes intended and will indemnify the Church in respect of any failure to do so.
  5. The Hirer, if using a third party during their hire (such as a catering company), will check that their third party has appropriate insurance for the activity in question, and will supply the Church with a copy of the third party's Schedule.
  6. The Hirer will give the Church a copy of the Hirer's own insurance schedule(s) pertinent to the hire in question.

5. Cleanliness

  1. By law, smoking is not permitted anywhere on the premises.
  2. The consumption or sale of alcohol is not permitted on the premises.
  3. The Hirer is responsible for leaving any of the facilities used in a clean and tidy state.

6. Sale of Goods

Goods shall not be sold on Church premises.

7. Recycling

We encourage Hirers to dispose of used packaging at recycling centres responsibly.

8. Termination

The Hiring agreement may be terminated immediately in the event of a breach of any one of these conditions, or any of the conditions set out in 'Notes for Hirers' (normally sent upon confirmation of booking).

Data protection note: Our form pages are hosted by Google. Information you submit via the form will be held on Google servers and not ours. They will also be transmitted to, and held by, us as a record of your request. We will only hold your data for purposes related to your booking, or future booking with us, and no other purpose. We will not disclose your data to any third party without your consent.
